Botany assistant researcher, Saffron Everleigh, helps prepare for the departure of a large expedition team to the Amazonian jungle. When her mentor is accused of poisoning the expedition leader’s wife with a mysterious toxin, Saffron is determined to prove his innocence. Alongside Alexander Ashton, a fellow researcher, Saffron tries to unwrap the mystery of who tried to kill Mrs. Henry and why.

Volume 2: Saffron Everleigh and the Poisoned Bouquets
Saffron Everleigh and the Poisoned Bouquets is the sequel to Saffron Everleigh and the Lightning Vine. Saffron Everleigh finds herself stuck with the flirtatious Dr. Lee on her first study as a researcher at the University College London botany department.
When Saffron is approached by Detective Inspector Green about a series of murders accompanied by flowers, she askes Lee for his help investigating a quartet of friends with connections to the murdered women. Through hazy jazz clubs and glittering parties, Saffron and Lee close in on the suspects, only to have their investigation stall.
The return of a friend brings forth questions about Saffron's study and her future career. Her research puts her and her relationships in danger. Just as Saffron tries to repair the damage, the poison bouquets make a reappearance, pulling Saffron into a deadly confrontation with the murderer.
With dramatic twists and a dose of heady romance, the second volume of the Saffron Everleigh series further entangles readers in Saffron's world of flowers and mystery, leaving them hanging on for the next installment.
